REGENESIS Functional Movement

Functional Movement & Postural Balance

A personalized approach to posture, mobility, stability, muscle balance, and movement retraining—designed to help you move and function better today and preserve that capability for the years ahead.

Why Mechanics Matter

Better movement requires more than stronger muscles.

Your muscles have different responsibilities. Some help maintain posture. Some stabilize your spine and joints. Others create movement, control motion, or generate strength and power. For your body to function efficiently, these systems must work together.

When muscles become tight and overactive, weak and underactive, or poorly coordinated, the body can compensate. Over time, that compensation may contribute to stiffness, restricted range of motion, altered posture, decreased stability, reduced performance, and increased mechanical stress on joints and tissues.

Where This Approach Came From

Built From Training, Rehabilitation, and Sports Medicine

Dr. McMurry’s approach to functional movement grew from both professional training and personal experience. His background as a personal fitness trainer, combined with years working in integrated healthcare and sports-medicine environments, exposed him to practical rehabilitation strategies for restoring movement, muscle balance, stability, strength, and physical capacity.

Those same principles became important in rebuilding and maintaining his own body after a significant spinal disc injury and now help inform the Functional Movement component of REGENESIS Structural Longevity™.

The Structural Longevity Assessment

Informed by Your Assessment Findings

Functional Movement care at REGENESIS is informed by the Structural Longevity Assessment. Depending on your findings, evaluation may include:

  • Posture and alignment
  • Joint mobility and range of motion
  • Muscle balance and flexibility
  • Core and joint stability
  • Functional strength
  • Balance and movement control
  • Areas of compensation

These findings can contribute to your Structural Age Score and Structural Longevity Report, and help determine what may need to be addressed—so your plan reflects how your body actually moves, not simply where it hurts.

Personalized Care

A Corrective Plan Built Around Your Findings

Care is personalized to your examination findings and goals, and may include:

  • Joint mobility and chiropractic care
  • Manual muscle and trigger-point therapy
  • Targeted mobility and stretching
  • Muscle activation
  • Stabilization exercises
  • Corrective strengthening
  • Movement retraining
  • Balance and coordination work

The goal is not simply to exercise harder. The goal is to help the right muscles do the right job at the right time.

The Process

Assess. Correct. Reassess. Maintain.

  1. 01

    Assess

Evaluate posture, mobility, muscle balance, stability, and movement control to identify what may be limiting how you move.

  2. 02

    Correct

Address the specific findings with individualized manual therapy, muscle activation, and corrective exercise.

  3. 03

    Reassess

Measure how movement and control change, and refine the plan as your body adapts.

  4. 04

    Maintain

Build the strength, capacity, and habits that help preserve physical capability for the years ahead.
