Professional Background
Experience From Sports Medicine to Structural Longevity™
22+ Years of Disc & Musculoskeletal Care
For more than 22 years, spinal disc-related conditions have been a core focus of Dr. McMurry’s clinical practice. His experience includes caring for patients with disc bulges, herniations, degenerative disc conditions, sciatica, and other problems associated with disc and nerve irritation or compression.
Los Angeles Sports Medicine Experience
Before establishing REGENESIS in Sarasota, Dr. Michael McMurry spent part of his career in the Los Angeles area working in a sports-medicine environment.
His experience included caring for professional athletes, active individuals, and people in the entertainment industry whose careers and performance placed significant demands on their bodies.
That experience reinforced an approach centered not only on reducing pain, but on restoring movement, maintaining function, and helping people perform at the level their lives require.
Firsthand Experience With Disc Injury
Dr. McMurry’s clinical perspective is also deeply personal. A significant spinal disc injury brought periods of severe pain, restricted movement, disrupted sleep, and loss of normal function—giving him firsthand understanding of how completely a spinal problem can affect daily life.
The Experience Behind Structural Longevity™
More Than Clinical Experience. Firsthand Experience.
Non-surgical spinal decompression became an invaluable part of Dr. McMurry’s own recovery and later became a central part of his clinical work. Chiropractic care has also played an important role in helping him maintain joint mobility, movement quality, and physical function.
But improving pain was only part of rebuilding his life.
Drawing on his background as a personal fitness trainer and his experience working in integrated healthcare and sports-medicine environments, Dr. McMurry incorporated rehabilitation, corrective movement, postural work, muscle balancing, stability, strengthening, and physical conditioning to rebuild his body and regain the active life he wanted.
He continues to use many of those same principles—including chiropractic care, spinal decompression, rehabilitation, movement work, and physical training—to maintain his own body and remain active despite a history of significant disc injury and degenerative changes.
Structural Longevity™ grew from that experience.
Today, Structural Longevity™ is the REGENESIS approach to helping people first feel better, then restore how their body moves and functions, and ultimately build and preserve the strength, mobility, resilience, function, and physical capacity they need to remain active and capable for the years ahead.
“I know what it is like when pain affects how you move, how you sleep, how you work, and whether you can do the things you love. I also know what it is like to regain those abilities. That experience has shaped the way I have cared for patients for more than two decades and is ultimately what led me to develop Structural Longevity™.”
Patient-First Care
The Right Care for You—Even When It Isn’t Ours.
“My responsibility is not to make every patient fit my treatment. My responsibility is to help each patient find the care that makes the most sense for them.”
Every recommendation at REGENESIS begins with your individual findings, needs, goals, and what Dr. McMurry believes is most appropriate for your situation. If care at REGENESIS makes sense, your plan will be personalized around you—not around a predetermined treatment package.
And if another physician, specialist, or type of care may be more appropriate, Dr. McMurry will tell you. When appropriate, care may also be coordinated with Dr. Daphne Johnson or other healthcare professionals so you can receive the type of care your situation requires.
The goal is not to keep you in treatment. The goal is to help you find the right path forward.
